Storyline;
A elite detail commando's gets a dabgerous mission to rescue a American general from a fortress in the bavarian alps.
Dressed as German they can't trust anyone and even can't trust fellow team members.
It was one of the first films played by Clint Eastwood and bacame a classic and if you like detective movies you will like this one as well.
Released in 1968 and art. nr is65186

Operatioon Pacific
Starring John Wayne
http://youtu.be/lKkBdvS5kso
Black and White film about a submarine fighting in the pacific with John Wayne playing a role as a captain who takes risks engaging the enemy but gets respect from the crew,
and with a love story in the background from captain with nurse to show the human side.
If you don't mind watching black and white films it's a great classic but storylines are usually slow if you compare them to modern ones.
Released in 1951 art.nr12155

Kelly's Heroes
Starring Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas and Donald Sutherland
http://youtu.be/beAQVm1j56w
A outfit of American soldiers get info on Nazi gold being behind enemy lines and decide to go for it taking passengers allong the way and even include german soldiers to get it.
One of the strangest war movies ever with humor in it but a real good one in my opinion especially Donald Sutherland plays a great role in this film playing a real nutcase.
18 Januari 1943
Nazi soldiers invade the ghetto of Warsaw to put Jewish people on trains heading for Treblinka which they have done lot's of times before.
This time the Jewish Fighting Organization give them a big surprise fighting back on a massive scale.
Based on a true story you really should see this one, this film is made respectfull towards the heroes of the uprising of Warsaw.
The crew of a B17 bomber is followed on their last mission before ending their tour of duty in Europe
A true story and great war movie in my opinion showing what it must have been up there in the sky with all the risks involved
Film showing the fight for Bastogne and is filmed in black and white and was up for 6 oscars at the time and received 2 oscars.
Robert Pirash was a Bastogne veteran and wrote the script for the film.
http://youtu.be/cAIZPogBhUg
A good film in my opinon but it is in black and white so you have to like that.
Starring Errol Flynn
http://youtu.be/HOjJPYUfN-g
Film showing the battle in Burma with Errol playing the role of a paracommando captain in the last effort of the war fighting the japs.
A realistic film also known as the "Saving Private Ryan" of that time.

Based on a true story you really should see this one, this film is made respectfull towards the heroes of the uprising of Warsaw.
By the way, there were two uprisings in Warsaw during WWII, not only one. The first one was in 1943 and it was uprising in Warsaw ghetto. Jews with some help from Polish Resistance were fighting for their lifes for about 4 weeks - with no chance for victory. After that Warsaw ghetto was totally destroyed.
The second uprising was in 1944: much bigger (almost whole city) and longer (2 months). Poles were fighting against Germans to capture the city before Red Army will enter their capital. After that uprising Warsaw was turned into ruins. Click here to see Warsaw 1944 from the sky

After raising the flag of Iwo Jima some of the soldiers get a chance to return home to make a propaganda tour to raise war bonds.
First they like it but soon they feel guilty that they are pamperd while others risk their lives.
This film is one of two made showing both side of the story around Iwo Jima filmed from both perspectives called Flags of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.
Letters from Iwo Jima;

As i mentioned this is the film showing the Japanes side of the story showing that the Japanes fought this one with the idea ,you fight and die surrender is no option honour comes first.
It shows what a waste of live it is to fight till the death leaving familys behind and is an eye opener, which gives you a clue what tragedy went on over there.
Personally i found the Japanes side of the story more interesting than the American side filmed, but the films are good.
Released in 2007 if i am not mistaken art.nrY16788 for the box containing both films.
A love story about a American ambulancedriver that volanteers for the Itaiian army and gets wounded and falls in love with the nurse that nurses him.
Both of them flee to Switzerland in search for happines after the horror of warbut luck is not on their hand.
Story based on a novel by Ernest Hemmingway.
Ford portrays American Ranger Lt. Col. Mike Barnsby, the leader of a commando unit sent to Yugoslavia to destroy a vital bridge that will allow Nazi forces to move into Partisan territory.
A specialized commando team is organized in 1943, during WWII, to sabotage and put out of commission the Axis firepower on the mountainous Greek island of Navarone in the Aegean Sea
James Mason plays fieldmarshall Erwin Rommel from his early years in the africa corps untill his death after being accuse of the attempt of killing Hitler.
Real good film made in black and white but great storyline and good acting.
Colonel Joseph Ryan shot down with his plane ends up in a prisoner of warcamp with American and British forces takes command being highest officer.
A great escape is planned and he leads them on a conquered train trying to get to Switzerland.
When a group commander looses his nerfs, a man called general Savage takes command of the bomber group getting not much cooperation from them.
After a while he gets the respect of them but feeling the pressure of command takes his toll.
